MySpace appeals to the Fashion Community
When I think My Space, demographically I envision teenagers expressing their emotions and feelings through blog posts, layouts, songs and pictures. I am completely wrong! According to comScore, most MySpacers are 35 years old and up making anywhere from $40,000-$60,000 annually. Maybe that's why MySpace redesigned it's website on Tuesday to appeal to their older, more fashionably inclined members.
With New York Fashion week right around the corner (Sept 5-Sept 12), higher-definition pictures for fashion videos from Instyle Magazine, behind-the-scene footage of high fashion photo shoots and how-to video's of makeup application had been added to the website. Also included are video's from aspiring designers, the upcoming seasons fall swatches, daily fashion trends and a line up of celebrity video dairies labled "The Fit."
Within the MySpace community lies subcultures anywhere from music bands and genres to cars and comedy, why not fashion? As MySpace supports Fashion Week this year, fellow MySpacer's will be able to identify themselves with one more community on the Web.
