Mobile Advertising Booms
A mobile advertising growth forecast was just released by The Kelsey Group which states that the US mobile ad market is growing rapidly. The market will grow from $33.2 million to $1.4 billion in 2012. Potential for growth in the mobile ad market is a result of change and the market is merging important themes that will cause these numbers to accrue.
- Mobile and search markets are linked and one could possibly affect the other so Microsoft is trying hard to get a foot in the door with the mobile market while Google remains the top search engine.
- Google has advertisers who want to spend more that the current traffic levels can support leading to a boost in mobile traffic and revenues.
- Apple's iPhone has transformed the way consumer's view phones therefore other manufacturer's will soon introduce newer, more advanced features at a lower price.
- AT&T is performing on a multi-level ad business where mobile is the key and these companies want to reign over all.
The 2 largest contributors to revenue are ad-sponsored directory assistance and the number of mobile Internet users. We should see a considerable increase in usage within these revenue producing categories.
